He’s fast asleep in the library, his head resting on a calculus book until a sudden noise wakes him up with a start. He looks around for the source, blinking owlishly and looking disoriented before his eyes fall on how the contents of his backpack, including two pill bottles—each a little lighter than they probably should be, because he’s been upping dosages sometimes after stressful events such as his fight with Ari—have spilled out across the table. He’d left the pack unzipped and he’d knocked it on its side sometime while he was sleeping. It;s either that or someone was looking through his stuff. He hurriedly tries to sweep everything back in the pack before anyone can see.
Ari stood at the end of the table holding an all to familiar small pill bottle, she used to carry a bottle for him in her purse when they were younger. She didn’t like when Finn had an Anxiety attack it would scare her so she made it a point to make sure she had everything he’d need to calm down. ”You forgot this.” Ari put it down on the table, she knew it was more empty then it should have been. ”You really shouldn’t take more of those then prescribed, i hear its bad for you.”
Jack smiled and gave a chuckle. “C’mon. They have the best milkshakes and malts. Well also the ice cream in general.” He wiped the rest of tears and water from her face with his thumb and walked with her toward the dinner. “Also their crew is amazing. Fast and friendly.” He had left on his hoodie, but just rolled up his sleeves and put his hands into his pockets. “You can also get some food if you want.” He gave a soft smile again.
Though his mind did race of why Finn would treat Ari like that. What happened?
"You had me at a milkshake." Ari chuckled, She didn’t mind hanging out with Jack for a bit. He was a bit of a prankster but she could see he was also sweet, and if anyone had seen him with his sister they would have no doubt in their mind about it. "Let’s head on out." She smiled happily glad to have something to distract herself.
I feel like I’ve known you my whole life and sometime beyond, but nothing’s the same anymore. I’m lost. i’m confused. I’m so much less without you, but you can’t go home again.
You can’t go home again.
"I am sure he has a good reason for this, even though no one should be treated like this." Jack looked to the corner of his eye, then back at her when she made her final statement. He gave a soft smile. "Well if I get beat up, then he knows I will stand up to him. My wounds can heal." He kept a smile. "I want a milkshake from the dinner." He offered an arm. "Wanna join me? My treat? Whatever combination or flavour you want! Any you can imagine!" He laughed some.
Her crying was breaking his heart. He couldn’t even stand Tina crying. Girls crying just killed him inside, so the only thing was he had to do something just to see a smile.
Ari smiled slightly, “You’re too good for your own good Frostan.” Ari knew he wasn’t kidding he’d probably face Finn but she didn’t want anyone fighting and she knew Finn couldn’t handle it. No matter how strong he pretended to be, She didn’t even know why she was still defending him. ”Yeah that sounds amazing Jack, and the perfect pick me up.”
We can fight and argue but when it comes down to it. I’ve got you and you got me and no matter what i’m here for you cause you are my best friend in deed.
Sometimes, it’s usually Benny or Nicolas that does it.
"So you think it’s normal for guy friends to get like that sometime?"
“Oh please! I’m sure you can do it!”
"Then we’ve got a deal!"
"I can always go talk to him. I am sure there is a good reason why this happened. Don’t be afraid, it will all work out and you two will be talking and hanging out in no time." He pulled her back and took the wrist fabric of his hoodie and wiped the tears. "See just one argument. I fight with Nicolas all the time and we are still friends." He smiled. "Give me a smile?"
"Yeah but Finn’s been acting real strange ever since he became friends with Eugene. It’s like the boy i grew up with is gone now and someone new has taken his place." Ari still couldn’t grasp what happened, "Jack you should stay away from him, he’s really not himself."
